Trained and qualified are not the same word

Qualified is a determination you make about a specific person on specific equipment. Training is one input to it. That gap is the single most common finding in an electrical safety audit, and it is the gap every class here is built to close: each attendee leaves with an individual qualification form, a documented Competency Check and a certificate that names the 2027 edition.

2027NFPA 70E
edition

The edition changed. Your training and your program have to.

NFPA 70E 2027 took effect May 6, 2026. Every class we teach is written to it, and every certificate names it. If your last class was on an earlier edition, the record is not the problem. The content is.

Every qualified electrical worker (QEW) class includes a 2027 NFPA 70E Field Guide, an individual qualification form, a documented Competency Check (75% minimum) and a completion certificate within 4 hours of class. The 4-Hour Electrical Safety Awareness class includes a documented competency check and a certificate of completion. OSHA 10-Hour Outreach can be added to any onsite visit; ask when you request the quote.

Every class is written around your industry

Before class we learn your equipment, your crew's roles and your site rules. The examples and case studies your crew works through come from work like theirs, and where your site has its own arc flash study, labels and procedures, we teach against those rather than a generic example.

Data centers, utilities, manufacturing, oil and gas, healthcare, water and wastewater, battery storage, solar, ports and airports, electrical contractors. If your crew opens panels, racks breakers or works near equipment that is live, the class is built for the decisions they make before the cover comes off.

Questions we get asked most

Does OSHA require NFPA 70E training?
OSHA requires that employees be trained in the safe work practices that apply to their work. It does not name NFPA 70E in the rule text. OSHA enforces electrical safety through 1910 Subpart S, 1926 Subpart K and the General Duty Clause, and treats NFPA 70E as the recognized industry standard for showing those practices were followed. That is why training gets built against it.
How often does retraining have to happen?
NFPA 70E 2027 requires retraining at intervals not to exceed three years (110.4(A)(4)(a)), and sooner when job tasks or equipment change, procedures change, an incident or near miss occurs, or observed performance shows a deficiency. A crew last trained on the 2024 edition is working from superseded material, which is a content problem rather than a date problem.
Who needs the qualified electrical worker class, and who needs awareness?
Anyone the employer will treat as a qualified person for work on or near energized equipment belongs in the 1-Day or 2-Day Qualified Electrical Worker class. Maintenance staff, operators and anyone else who works near energized equipment but never opens it takes the 4-Hour Electrical Safety Awareness class. Supervisors who sign energized work permits need the same training as the people doing the task.
How fast can you get a class scheduled?
Onsite classes can often run within a few days depending on instructor availability, and a private live virtual class can run as soon as the next day. When the deadline is close, call (813) 725-0999 so we can confirm a date while you are on the phone. A short-notice class carries the same 2027 content, Competency Check and documentation as any other.
What does each attendee receive?
A certificate with QR verification, an individual qualification form, a documented Competency Check (75% minimum) and a digital wallet card, issued within 4 hours of class. Every QEW class also includes a 2027 NFPA 70E Field Guide. The employer still makes the final qualification determination for each person on specific equipment; the paperwork is written so that determination has something to stand on.
Can we add OSHA 10-Hour to the same visit?
Yes. OSHA 10-Hour Outreach in General Industry or Construction can run alongside any onsite NFPA 70E class, taught by an OSHA Authorized Outreach Trainer. One visit, one purchase order. Your electricians get qualified and the rest of the crew earns a student course completion card.
