In-person · Goodyear, AZElectrical safety training in Goodyear, AZ
Goodyear is the West Valley's hyperscale town, with Microsoft, Compass, Vantage and Stream campuses south of Interstate 10. We train the crews building and running them, plus the plant and warehouse electricians nearby, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Goodyear when you ask.
Arizona runs its own OSHA-approved state plan. Private employers here are inspected by Arizona Division of Occupational Safety and Health (ADOSH), Industrial Commission of Arizona, not federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Arizona electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Goodyear crew
Crews we train in and around Goodyear: hyperscale construction and commissioning, data center operations, logistics and fulfillment, manufacturing, aviation maintenance, public facilities.
What the class covers for Goodyear crews
A phased hyperscale campus keeps adding buildings while earlier ones carry live load. We cover how energization boundaries move as each building is turned over.
Compass's Goodyear design called for its own 230 kV substation alongside utility 69 kV service. When the owner holds the high-voltage gear, someone on site is responsible for its switching and maintenance. We explain where 1910.269 starts to matter.
Fulfillment and manufacturing sites in Goodyear rely on MCCs, VFDs and conveyor controls that maintenance techs troubleshoot live. Troubleshooting with the covers off is energized work, and we treat it that way.
West Valley campuses offer little shade between buildings. We plan PPE selection and task durations so crews can wear arc-rated clothing safely in a Goodyear summer.

Goodyear and Arizona: what applies to your crews
Enforcement: ADOSH
Goodyear employers are inspected by ADOSH, Arizona's state-plan agency under the Industrial Commission of Arizona, which also covers city and county workers. ADOSH runs a heat-stress emphasis program.
Licensing: the company, not the worker
The Registrar of Contractors licenses electrical contractors. There is no Arizona journeyman card, so each employer on a multi-contractor campus qualifies its own people.
Where NFPA 70E fits
NFPA 70E is a consensus standard. Employers and inspectors use it to show how OSHA 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K are met, and 1910.269 can apply to work on owner-operated generation and transmission equipment.
Goodyear's electrical work environment
Goodyear's data centers are hyperscale and phased. Compass bought about 200 acres in 2019 and planned eight buildings. Vantage's AZ1 campus added a second phase scheduled to open in spring 2024, with APS as the utility. Microsoft runs a multi-building Azure campus here and bought roughly 100 more acres beside it.
The city's largest employers are logistics operations. UPS runs a regional operations center here and Chewy has a large fulfillment site. Sub-Zero has built refrigerators and appliances in Goodyear since 2011 and added a second plant. These buildings run on conveyors, sortation and motor control centers.
South of the freeway, Phoenix Goodyear Airport carries aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul shops and airline pilot training. It is a different kind of electrical work, with hangar power, ground power units and shop equipment.
APS in Goodyear
Arizona Public Service (APS) is the utility for Goodyear's large campuses. Vantage names APS as its provider, and APS owns one of the 69 kV substations that feeds the Compass site.
APS and SRP restrictions on new deliveries limit the powered land available across the Valley (CBRE, H2 2025). Compass's design already put a developer-owned 230 kV substation on its site. For electricians, that means privately owned high-voltage switching inside campus fences, where the utility's crews and procedures do not reach.
