In-person · Oklahoma City, OKElectrical safety training in Oklahoma City, OK
Oklahoma City holds the Air Force's largest depot complex at Tinker, the FAA's national academy and logistics center, and the headquarters of OG&E, which is adding gas turbines and signing gigawatt-scale data center load. We train the electrical crews who maintain its depots, plants and utility systems, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Oklahoma City when you ask.
Private employers in Oklahoma are inspected by federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Oklahoma electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Oklahoma City crew
Crews we train in and around Oklahoma City: military depot contractors, aerospace, federal aviation facilities, power generation, data centers, state and local government.
What the class covers for Oklahoma City crews
Tinker's depot runs hangars, test stands and shops across millions of square feet while the KC-46 campus is still under construction. We cover multi-employer coordination for contractors working inside a federal industrial complex.
Depot and MRO work involves ground power, aircraft DC and battery systems and test equipment. We cover DC and stored energy hazards alongside standard AC work.
New turbines at Horseshoe Lake and phased data center builds like CloudBurst energize gear while other trades are still on site. We spend time on marking the line between construction and live equipment.
State agencies, the city and public schools are a large share of local employment and fall under PEOSH rather than OSHA. We help them build an NFPA 70E based program that stands up to a PEOSH inspection.

Oklahoma: what applies to your crews
Enforcement: federal OSHA and PEOSH
With no OSHA-approved state plan, private employers in Oklahoma County and the rest of the state answer to the federal OSHA Oklahoma City Area Office. Public employers are covered by PEOSH, run by the Oklahoma Department of Labor.
Licensing: Construction Industries Board
Journeyman electricians and electrical contractors are licensed statewide by the Construction Industries Board, with apprentices registered to work under licensed supervision. The license does not make anyone qualified for energized work.
Where NFPA 70E fits
NFPA 70E is not something OSHA enforces. Oklahoma City employers and depot contractors rely on it to meet OSHA 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K, and OSHA can use the General Duty Clause against a recognized hazard.
Oklahoma City's electrical work environment
Tinker Air Force Base, between I-40 and I-240 beside Midwest City and Del City, is the largest single-site employer in Oklahoma. Its Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex maintains the B-52, B-1, B-2, KC-135 and E-3 across a base of 760 buildings and more than 15 million square feet of floor space. The KC-46A Pegasus sustainment campus on 158 acres had seven of its 14 bays running in late 2023 and is expected to keep building through 2029, and Tinker also holds the depot workload for the B-21 Raider.
Aerospace work extends across the city. The FAA's Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center at Will Rogers World Airport runs the FAA Academy and the FAA Logistics Center, which repairs and distributes air traffic control equipment for the National Airspace System. Boeing's campus near Tinker added a 290,000 square foot building for its aircraft modernization and sustainment work, and the company leases a hangar at Tinker's maintenance, repair and overhaul technology center.
Power demand is climbing fast. OG&E's retail load has grown more than 24% since 2021, and on the southwest side CloudBurst broke ground in late 2025 on a data center campus on South Council Road whose first phase of about 30 MW is due online late in 2026. Weather is the other constant. Oklahoma City has been struck by 13 violent tornadoes since 1890, including the May 20, 2013 EF5 that hit south Oklahoma City and Moore.

OG&E and the Southwest Power Pool
OG&E, headquartered in downtown Oklahoma City, serves about 913,000 customers across roughly 30,000 square miles of Oklahoma and western Arkansas. In September 2026 it reported Horseshoe Lake Unit 11 in Harrah complete about six months ahead of schedule, with Unit 12 due in October. Together they add about 448 MW of GE Vernova 7FA.05 turbines that replace two 60-year-old gas boilers, and regulators have already pre-approved Units 13 and 14. In April 2026 OG&E also agreed to serve three new Google data centers in Muskogee and Stillwater, with Google paying the full cost of connecting them.
OG&E is a member of the Southwest Power Pool, and its draft resource plan identifies about 1.9 GW of new capacity needs by 2031. Industrial Info also reported a two-unit, 96 MW replacement at the Tinker power station that serves the base. For local crews, every new turbine, substation and large-load interconnection is energized in stages, and a tornado or ice storm can still push a facility onto standby power with little warning.
