In-person · Prineville, ORElectrical safety training in Prineville, OR
Prineville is the Crook County town where Meta built its first company-owned data center and Apple followed a year later. We train the crews who run and expand those campuses, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in Prineville when you ask.
Oregon runs its own OSHA-approved state plan. Private employers here are inspected by Oregon Occupational Safety and Health Division (Oregon OSHA), Department of Consumer and Business Services, not federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Oregon electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your Prineville crew
Crews we train in and around Prineville: data center operations, data center construction, electric utility, wood products and manufacturing, electrical contractors, public employers.
What the class covers for Prineville crews
When the nearest trauma center is a drive away, the emergency response plan for energized work has to account for it. We cover planning that around your site's real response times.
Building new phases beside operating buildings puts construction crews near energized equipment. We cover how host and contract employers share responsibility at the boundary.
Oregon licenses electricians by class through the Building Codes Division. A limited maintenance license covers less than a general journeyman license, and NFPA 70E qualification is a separate employer duty.
High desert winters put extra load on standby generators and heaters. We include generator yard and paralleling gear in our examples.

Oregon: what applies to your crews
Enforcement: Oregon OSHA
Oregon runs an OSHA-approved state plan through Oregon OSHA, a division of the Department of Consumer and Business Services. It covers private employers and state and local government, and publishes its own rules in OAR chapter 437. The Bend field office covers Central Oregon.
Licensing: state license required
Oregon licenses electricians through the Building Codes Division, from general journeyman and general supervising electrician down to limited classes such as limited maintenance. Each class has a defined scope, and renewal requires continuing education.
Where NFPA 70E fits
NFPA 70E is not an Oregon OSHA regulation. It is the consensus standard employers and inspectors use to show how the electrical requirements in OSHA 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K, as Oregon adopts them in OAR 437, are met.
Prineville's electrical work environment
Prineville was a timber and ranching town for most of its history. Les Schwab started its tire business here in 1952 and later moved its headquarters to Bend. The town even built its own railroad, a 19-mile line to the main track, which the city still owns.
The data centers changed the picture. Meta chose Prineville in 2010 for its first company-owned data center, and Apple announced its own campus on a 160-acre tract in February 2012. Both campuses have grown since.
For electrical crews, Prineville work means big, modern gear in a remote place. Bend and Redmond are close, but the deeper bench of qualified electrical labor is in Portland, three hours away over the Cascades.
PacifiCorp in Central Oregon
Prineville's data centers are served by PacifiCorp, which operates in Oregon as Pacific Power. When Meta arrived, Greenpeace criticized the choice because so much of PacifiCorp's supply came from coal.
On a hyperscale campus, most of the electrical system past the utility meter belongs to the owner: switchgear, UPS plants, generators and distribution. That equipment falls under your electrical safety program, and the people who work on it need to be qualified on it.
