In-person · San Antonio, TXElectrical safety training in San Antonio, TX
San Antonio hosts 72 data centers, Joint Base San Antonio, Toyota's truck plant and the aircraft hangars at Port San Antonio. We train the electricians and technicians who work across them, at your facility or in an in-person class we set up in San Antonio on request.
Private employers in Texas are inspected by federal OSHA. Every class is live, on the 2027 edition of NFPA 70E, and taught by a Certified Safety Professional. Texas electrical safety training requirements →

Four ways to train your San Antonio crew
Crews we train in and around San Antonio: data center construction and commissioning, data center operations, military and federal facilities, aerospace maintenance, automotive manufacturing, utilities and public employers.
What the class covers for San Antonio crews
With buildings under construction next to operating halls, crews energize new gear in phases near live load. We cover how to establish and document an electrically safe work condition when the boundary moves every week.
Bases and federal contractors add their own access, escort and documentation rules. We schedule around them and give you training records that hold up to review.
Maintenance hangars carry aircraft ground power, large shop equipment and frequent temporary connections. We cover the hazards at those connection points.
TDLR licenses show your electricians know the trade. NFPA 70E qualification is the employer's documented decision about specific equipment and hazards, and our individual qualification form gives you that record.

Texas: what applies to San Antonio crews
Enforcement: federal OSHA
Private employers in San Antonio are covered by federal OSHA through the San Antonio Area Office on I-10 West. Texas has no state plan, so CPS Energy, San Antonio Water System, city and school district employees are public workers outside OSHA coverage.
Licensing: TDLR
Texas licenses electricians statewide through TDLR, under the Texas Electrical Safety and Licensing Act. A state license is valid in every Texas city, and no separate municipal license is needed.
Where NFPA 70E fits
OSHA's electrical rules are in 1910 Subpart S and 1926 Subpart K. NFPA 70E is the consensus standard employers and inspectors use to show how those rules are met, and OSHA can cite the General Duty Clause for recognized hazards.
San Antonio's electrical work environment
San Antonio is the second-largest city in Texas and the workhorse of the state's colocation market. Much of the data center load sits on the west side around Westover Hills, where Microsoft operates 14 buildings and CyrusOne, Vantage and Stream have campuses of their own. QTS runs a large facility on the northwest side, and H5 operates a carrier hotel downtown.
The rest of the industrial base is military and manufacturing. Joint Base San Antonio combines Fort Sam Houston, Lackland and Randolph. Port San Antonio, on the former Kelly Air Force Base, houses Boeing, StandardAero and nearly 16,000 workers on 1,900 acres. Toyota builds the Tundra and Sequoia on the south side.
A San Antonio electrician can see an aircraft hangar, a truck plant body shop and a 50 MW data hall in the same year.
CPS Energy
CPS Energy, owned by the City of San Antonio since 1942, calls itself the nation's largest municipally owned utility providing both natural gas and electric service. It serves more than 996,000 electric customers in Bexar County and parts of seven surrounding counties. As a municipal utility, its territory is not open to retail choice.
CPS Energy plans upwards of $1.3 billion in transmission and generation over five years to serve data center growth (DCD, 2024). Developers are also turning to behind-the-meter gas, including CloudBurst's 1.2 GW campus between New Braunfels and San Marcos. Both trends put more utility-class switchgear and on-site generation in front of facility crews.
